During summer breaks or other times that ILL requests are not filled, you can opt to turn off the ILL option across EBSCO platforms. Here's how it's done:

Temporarily Remove Custom Link

This ensures the ILL option doesn't show up in search results for EBSCO databases or in the EDS. The example shows EBSCOhost, but you'll also want to check your EDS profile if you have an ILL link set up there as well.

  • Select the Linking tab under Customized Services, then click Modify for Custom Links

Select linking tab and then modify custom links

  • Find the ILL form in the list of currently applied Custom Links and click the X to remove. This will only remove the link from your current selections. To add the link back in click on Add New Custom Links, select the appropriate ILL form and submit.

Disable the ILL Link in Full Text Finder

  • In Holdings Management click on the Links option. Find your ILL form. In this example Baldwin Wallace has 2 ILL forms because they also have Outside Tool configured for PubMed. Your institution may only have one ILL form.

Edit link in Holdings Management

  • Click on the link for the ILL form, scroll down and set the General Settings to "No"

Change General Settings to No

Remember to re-enable the ILL forms in both of these areas when you are ready to start filling requests again.

Don't Forget OCLC

If you haven't already, you'll also want to make sure that you are set as an OCLC non-supplier or set up a deflection scenario (if applicable).
