The OPAL Digital Collections represent the collective digital content of the OPAL member libraries.  In aggregate, the Digital Collections represent more than 85 collections with over 18,000 items, including photographs, sound recordings, yearbooks, and other printed and manuscript materials.

Many of those collections are maintained within OPAL's shared instance of OCLC's CONTENTdma digital asset management platform provided by OCLC and hosted in the cloud. The platform provides libraries with easy-to-use tools for building, managing, and showcasing digital collections to the world, with the ability to personalize and brand individual collections as well.

Several OPAL libraries use their own independent digital object management platforms for their digital collections, including bepress and Rescarta.

Members interested in participating in the OPAL Digital Collections initiative can find more details about participating in CONTENTdm on the information page or contact OPAL Support.
